Seniors Eye Exam

Local Eye Care for Ageing Eyes

It’s a reality we must face that our eyes can struggle to stand the test of time. However, Armstrong Optometry & Associates always invests in the latest cutting-edge technology so that we can balance the odds.

Our technology is key to early diagnosis of visual threats, maximizing your existing vision and preventing sight loss year on year.

A 21st Century Approach to Eye Care

With five decades of practising experience between them, our eye doctors have paid witness to the vast technological leaps taking place in the last few years. We are better equipped now, more than ever, to protect your vision through retirement.

Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a standard part of all eye exams at our practice, and produces a high resolution, 3D image of the retina. Even the earliest stages of AMD can be detected through this single test by assessing swelling of the retina or observing any distortion of the retinal layers.

We use our advanced imaging equipment to to construct a soft of map of the curvature of your cornea, which is exceptionally detailed.

We can take images of the retina in ultra-high resolution, allowing us to spot the tell-tale signs of serious illnesses or developments in that part of the eye.

It’s Never Too Late to Be Stylish

Whether you’ve been wearing corrective lenses for 50 years or we diagnose a refractive error in your next eye exam, it’s important to wear frames which suit your preferences. We are proud to stock many of the world’s leading eyewear brands, including Dior, Oakley, Flexon and many, many more.
Our optical centre will help you find the ideal prescription lenses (or sunglasses!) so you can leave feeling confident about both your vision and your look.

Why Seniors Exams Are Different

Quite simply, there are eye diseases and conditions which don’t generally occur until after your 50th birthday. Such diseases often sneak into being without any symptoms – like age-related macular degeneration or glaucoma – and can significantly impair your vision. In the worst case, these diseases can cause permanent blindness.

In order to enjoy the next 50 years comfortably and with good vision, book an exam every 12 months and stick to it – early detection is your best weapon against destructive eye conditions.
